CDL Driver

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Job description:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious CDL Truck Driver to join our lumberyard team. The driver will be responsible for delivering lumber, building materials, and other supplies to job sites, customer locations, or other company facilities. This role includes loading and unloading materials, ensuring secure transport, and maintaining a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vehicles (flatbeds, boom trucks, or box trucks) to deliver building materials to residential and commercial job sites.
• Load and unload materials, sometimes using forklifts, or manually.
• Secure loads in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, yard personnel, and customers.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain required signatures.
• Follow all federal, state, and local transportation laws and company safety policies.
• Assist with yard duties as needed (loading customers, organizing inventory, etc.).

• Valid CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 1–2 years of commercial driving experience preferred (experience in the lumber/building materials industry a plus).
• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading.
• Forklift and/or boom truck certification a plus (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, and noise.
• Early morning starts and occasional overtime may be required.
