World War I Exhibit Opens at Heritage Center
World War I Exhibit Opens at Heritage Center
When the U.S. entered WWI in April 1917, Wright County quickly joined in and showed patriotism both at home and abroad. Join the Wright County Historical Society on April 11th, 2017 at 6:30pm for the opening of "The Great War: Wright County & WWI, 1917-1918”, as we commemorate the 100th Anniversary of our country and county’s involvement in ‘the war to end all wars’. This exhibit, which is housed in the Foyer Gallery of the Wright County Heritage Center (2001 Hwy 25 N, Buffalo, MN), will be on display for the foreseeable future during regular working hours (M, W-F 8:00-4:30 pm, Tu 8-8 pm). Programs and presentations highlighting the exhibit are also planned throughout the upcoming months. At 7:00 pm, following the exhibit opening, WCHS curator Lori Nohner give a short presentation highlighting the process of putting the exhibit together, including research, interviews, and choosing collection items to best highlight Wright County’s story.
The exhibit opening is free and all are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served. RSVPs gratefully received but not required to 763-682-7323 or online at www.wrighthistory.org. For more information contact Sally Stevens, business manager, at 763-682-8945.
