Ask the Experts: Lung Cancer Prevention & Screening Virtual Event
Did you know . . . Lung cancer has accounted for nearly 15% of the total cancer diagnoses in Wright County for the last three years, making it the second-highest cancer diagnosis, just behind breast cancer (National Cancer Data Base, 2021)?
Join us as we ask the experts:
- What is lung cancer?
- What are the warning signs and screening options?
- What is low dose screening and treatments?
- Tell us about tobacco and the risks related to lung cancer
- Behavior change - what can be done to quit smoking?
Meet the experts:
- Seth Baker, MD, MPH, Allina Health - specializes in pulmonary medicine.
- Jacob Anson, Health Promotion Coordinator, Wright County
- Marc Katz, MPH, Minnesota Department of Health, Planner Indoor Air Unit
- Stacy Besonen, Wellness Programs Specialist, Allina Health
Information about lung cancer, behavior change and tobacco cessation will be sent to you prior to the event.
In Minnesota, two out of five homes are estimated to have elevated radon levels (Minnesota Department of Health, 2016). Many are spending more time at home working, socializing and caring for families. It is important to have your home tested for radon. Allina Health is offering free radon test kit to the first 50 participants attending the virtual event.
